Summary

The Smith Robinson Building is a series of buildings and additions dating from 1820, 1841, and 1965, which form a four storey structure of approximately 70,000 sq.f. gross floor area. This historically designated, limestone clad, wood and concrete frame building was, until recently, a large, single tenant department store. It is located in Kingston's historic downtown as a local landmark. The intended use is ground floor retail/commercial and upper floor commercial (offices). The exterior will be restored, while the interior will be reconstructed and re-serviced. The mechanical system will include an energy-efficient heat pump system and heat recovery from exhaust air. Lighting will be controlled via occupancy and daylight sensors.
